Protein Shakes

Protein Shakes are a great way to help your body build muscle, stay fit, full and nourished. I love eating a huge breakfast so I’ll usually add a protein shake to whatever else I’m eating. Post workout is a great time to down a shake.

You want to make sure the powder you get is extremely high quality, organic, low in sugar, saturated fats and high in protein. One thing that took me a long time to find was a good protein combination that was easy on my stomach, didn’t make me bloat or have indigestion. I recommend TerasWhey, Orgain or Dymatize Elite Protein and duh chocolate flavor!

Be sure to add your liquid base first, then the protein powder. From years of blending smoothies, I’ve learned that it wastes less protein and makes clean up super easy. 

I don’t get too fancy with my shakes but that doesn’t mean they are not delicious! Here are some of my favorite protein shake blends in a Magic Bullet or regular blender:

1 Scoop Protein Powder +..

  • Banana
  • Almond Milk unsweetened
  • Chia seeds or flax seeds
  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter
  • Blueberries
  • Spinach
  • Almond milk
  • Chia or flax seeds
  • Banana (frozen or fresh- I personally don’t like super cold smoothies)
  • 2 dates
  • almond milk
  • peanut or almond butter
  • strawberries
  • pineapple
  • almond milk
